New Research Fellow at ILAS: Dr Michela Coletta

Michela Coletta received her PhD in Latin American History from University College London in December 2011. She has taught Latin American history at UCL and Spanish-American literature at King's College London. Before joining ILAS, she was a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Hispanic, Portuguese & Latin American Studies at the University of Bristol.

At ILAS, Michela is carrying out her new project on ideas of nature and modernity in twentieth-century intellectual debates with a focus on Argentina. The project aims at shedding new light on Latin America's original contribution to reformulating the nature/culture divide.
